In the past year...

  • 1/3 of households in Ontario purchased an appliance, however, more than 46% of these purchases were made by homeowners under the age of 24.

  • 20% of Ontarians reported needing appliance service but only 19% contacted the manufacturer. However, 82% reported that it is important if manufacturers offer in and out of warranty service. Is this a missed opportunity?

  • Of the key factors consumer look for when choosing a technician, a service technician trained by the manufacturer was ranked higher in importance than an inexpensive technician or one that came highly recommended by friends or Google.  As a retailer, are you advertising that your appliances are serviced by the manufacturer?  Is this a missed opportunity?
