Is there a question you would like answered by the general public? Just a few questions that might help inform your broader research or help you formulate your strategic plan?
With the upcoming legalization of cannabis in Canada, we asked Canadians about usage & attitudes towards marijuana and uncovered a few interesting tidbits:
- 1 in 5 Canadians have used marijuana in the past year. Usage rate increases to 1 in 3 for those under the age of 24.
- Legalization will not change the rate of usage. Almost 20% of Canadians plan to use marijuana when it is legal.
- Legalization of recreational use of marijuana is also being tabled. 49% agree with the legalization of recreational marijuana while 11% are undecided.
- Where it should be sold is still up for some debate. 21% agree with dispensaries, 21% agree with pharmacies while 14% agree with marijuana being sold through the LCBO or government liquor stores.
Cannabis is a growing industry with new players entering the marketplace every day.
Asking short simple questions to the general public can be an eyeopener to learn a new insight that might ignite a new awareness, trial or educational campaign.
